Owners Sandy and Chuck

Text Box: Chuck & Sandy Poust graduated from Blackburn College in Illinois and together began teaching school on Long Island in NY. Chuck’s field was art and Sandy’s was elementary education. Time passes and we find them running a successful sandblasting and painting business. Big trucks instead of canvases for Chuck. After the children left the homestead, their large Victorian’s first floor was turned into an art gallery with custom picture framing as an added service. Having purchased the Coupeville, WA building in the late 1980’s they were able to get their ducks in a row and move the gallery to Coupeville in January of 1997. The resulting business, The Windjammer Gallery and Custom Framing is the culmination of continuing education and a work ethic honed from decades of working together. Members for years, Chuck has earned the Professional Picture Framers Association’s designation of CPF, or certified picture framer.

Brandy grew up in Seattle and moved to Coupeville

in 1996. She has been

conservation framing at

the Windjammer since 1998.

Brandy has also earned the

CPF designation. “Working

at the gallery has been a

great opportunity for me to

learn, meet people and chat with the many visitors,

I love my job!”
